Ask any bride what they look forward to the most when it comes to planning their wedding? Decor and stationery! Its the details that really bring any wedding to life and allows for unlimited creativity!
Our top tip: Let your stationery elements serve as an amuse-bouche to the celebration to come and each part of your wedding day. If your wedding concept lies around a central theme, colour, location or holiday, all printed or hand-crafted items can provide your guests with insight – creating excitement – without marring the surprises that will be unveiled one by one, on your special day. Carry the concept right through to the ceremonial program; reception menu; table numbers and place cards, ensuring that every piece is cohesive with one another. The wedding-day décor is too a direct reflection of your involvement and both personalities.
The next step towards a unique wedding celebration is the selection, briefing and booking of the necessary and most suitable service providers. Inspired by our clients’ vision and ideas, we will “select to match” within our hand-picked network of the Cape’s finest vendors for each part of their wedding day. We’re very excited to welcome 2 new stationers to our exclusive vendor portfolio.
Lovelab:
Lovelab is the brain child of Louise van der Westhuizen. Based in creative hub that is Woodstock in Cape Town, Louise has a keen eye for detail and design and best of all – originality. The name says it all as one can see that a lot of “love” is put into every single item! We invited Louise to our offices to meet the face behind the name and of course to get the chance to view her stationery. She desribed Lovelab and her passion to us,
“Basically I just love creating… and not all people (brides and other clients) have the time or feel they’re creative enough to come up with new ideas… So I just like to experiment and deliver ideas! Continuity is very important to me – I like to have a ‘golden thread’ running through everything from the invitation (which whets your appetite and gives you a hint of what the wedding will be like) to the groom’s clothing. I always joke and say I’ve got the ‘I’d like to make a suggestion’ disease! Basically anything you can dream of or desire; and I like customising, so the same solution isn’t used twice!”
Secret Diary:
Secret Diary are the new cool kids on the “stationers block”. We’ve been admiring their work from a distance for some time and watching them grow into formidable trend setters. Its founder and creative director Carla Panebianco came from a rich artistic background having both parents being artistically inclined from a young age. “Having a mom who was so passionate about truly beautiful art and design definitely helped the natural progression towards starting Secret Diary”
The creative influences at work in Secret Diary came from Carla’s many years of artistic experiences and a true passion for all things design. Having taken inspiration from some of the great artists and designers, a gap in the market was realised for truly exceptional wedding and event stationery and so Secret Diary was born. Their mission is to give invitations and stationery the respect and recognition they deserve and constantly keeping true to their design philosophy that there is always an innovative solution to be created for any client.
A big welcome to both Lovelab and Secret Diary from the Wedding Concepts team!
